During the last decade there has been a communication revolution and the society is moving rapidly into an information oriented era based on new communication technologies. Technologies from Electronics field call for an integrated convergence and the inclusion of such studies in University programmes are a right step in the right direction to keep pace with ongoing social transformation. The department of Electronics and Telecommunication at H.C.E.T. endeavours to become a Centre of Excellence.
It introduces the students to the fundamentals of communication and electronics theory, provides practical and applied skills for inculcating rational, scientific and critical thinking. The highlights of major subjects taught in the field of communication include fundamentals and applications of Digital Communication, Fiber Optics, Satellite Communication, Modern Telecommunication Techniques in addition to Computer Communication and Software Skills.
VLSI design industry is arguably the most happening field in electronic industry today. The Chip that contained millions of transistors and work at explosive speeds is fueled by ever shrinking chip geometry have made possible designs and products that seemed impossible not very long ago.
Undoubtedly our daily lives are significantly affected by electronics engineering technology. Electronics is characterized by high reliability, low power, extremely low weight in volume and low cost.
The VLSI course includes quantitative and qualitative description of VLSI design issues to make the student understand the various design steps required to complete an efficient design and to make them understand recent trends and needs of the industry.
MATLAB and SIMULINK Softwares alongwith different blocksets and toolboxes have been purchased in the Department to fulfill the current industrial requirement.
Labs of E&TC mainly cater to Data Communication, Data Structure, Digital Circuits, Computer programming, Antenna and Wave propagation, Digital Signal Processing, Industrial Electronics, Communication Network, Mobile Networking, Television and Radar, Advanced Communication Systems etc.
The department has well equipped laboratories including MEASUREMENT & INSTRUMENTATION LAB, NETWORK LAB, COMPUTER PROGRAMMING LAB, ELECTRONICS, DIGITAL CIRCUIT SYSTEM, ANALOG & DIGITAL COMMUNICATION LAB, COMPUTER PROGRAMMING, DATA COMMUNICATION, HARDWARE PROGRAMMING, MICROPROCESSOR, ANTENNA, MICROWAVE ENGG. LAB, OPTICAL COMMUNICATION LAB, COMPUTER NETWORK LAB, LAN Trainer Kit(Prayog)
Some of the softwares include MATLAB, TINA PRO, PLOT-IT-FOR ANTENNA, EMU-8086, SIMULATOR-8085, etc.
